Legislative Watch Dog:
WAMIC continually meets with the Wisconsin Insurance
Department (OCI) and legislature, to keep the notion that
BIG isn’t always good.
- WAMIC sponsors annual
Washington D.C. trips.
- Holds OCI meetings and
seminars annually.
- Keeps local officials
informed about our industry.
Many of our members have
people on the town boards or county boards throughout the
state. All politics are still local.
Working Together to Promote and Preserve the Mutual
Insurance way of life:
The interests, problems and concerns of statewide
companies are identical to large and small insurers.
The business environment in which all mutuals operate is
shaped by the activities of our country’s representative
government, both local and national. The "small"
town mutual as well as the "small" statewide
domestic must communicate their position on various issues
to elected officials.
The need for a common meeting ground to exchange ideas and
solutions to problems, and the desire to make a collective
voice heard brings forth a strong association.
This concept of all mutual insurers working together
toward common goals does work in Wisconsin.
WAMIC is the unification of mutual interests as we move
into what could be a very challenging decade for the
mutual insurance industry.
"A
COLLECTIVE VOICE WILL BRING FORTH A STRONG
ASSOCIATION."
